Session Description: The Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) now features the former Blair Consulting Group DOT/SAP training program. This well established and top-rate two day training series is offered through EAPA with seasoned former Blair trainer Dr. Tamara Cagney.
This “gold standard” course meets the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) qualification training requirements under 49 CFR Part 40.281(c)(1) and update training requirements for SAPs under 49 CFR Part 40.281(d). This engaging course is perfect for those who want to begin their initial SAP qualification, those seeking re-qualification, and EA professionals and EAP affiliate providers who are seeking to add or maintain a SAP services component in their practice.
You will leave the course with a detailed manual, requisite knowledge of the Part 40 modal rules (FAA, FMCSA, etc.), an awareness of ethical concerns common to the SAP role, and familiarity with available resources to stay current.
Tamara Cagney, Ed.D, RN She is a certified employee assistance professional and an internal EA professional at Sandia National Laboratories/California. She has over 35 years EAP experience in both the public and private sectors, in unionized and non-unionized settings. As a distinguished member of the laboratory staff, Tamara has been with Sandia since 2000. She holds a bachelor’s of science in nursing, and both a master’s and doctorate in counseling psychology.
Co-Presenter: Joe Boyle, MSW, LICSW, CEAP, SAP is currently an EAP Counselor/Consultant with TEAM – MN where he has been a full time employee since mid – April of this year and was an on-site affiliate/ counselor for the prior 8nyears. Most recently he was the USPS EAP Northland District Consultant and had been with the contract for twenty-two years, as well as a total of over thirty four years of experience in thedesign and delivery of EAP program, managed mental health, substance abuse treatment,organizational development and disability benefits services. He has demonstrated excellence in assessment and brief counseling services; SAP services; development of trainings and orientations in both English and Spanish; management, supervisory and union consultations and he is also bilingual and bicultural Spanish speaking. His leadership strengths include skilled individual/group communications, delivery of wellness seminars, project management skills, critical incident stress debriefings/CIR, creative problem solving, and delivery ofemployee/supervisor/union training, coaching, personalized consulting and working as an On Demand Military Family Life Consultant.
Joe has provided EAP consultation to a large number of national and international companies and has lived abroad in Mexico for a period of time.
