Providing Specialized EAP Services: Onsite Critical Incident Response (CIR) Overview Register Today!
Providing EAP services offers a myriad of opportunities to specialize and expand your clinical and organizational skills. One such area is in EAP Critical Incident Response (CIR). Providing onsite services to work organizations is an integral part of EAP services. Over the years such events as the Oklahoma City bombing and the attacks on 9/11, have demonstrated the value of having highly trained EA professionals ready to provide leadership consultation and onsite crisis intervention designed to foster organizational and individual resilience. Being available to offer support and guidance during a time of extreme vulnerability requires a high degree of compassionate professionalism and organizational savvy. This introductory training is designed to provide the EA professionals and EAP affiliate providers an overview of EAP CIR, the clinical foundations to be learned and the type of crisis intervention skills required to be successful in providing EAP CIR. In addition, this training will help you decide if this kind of work is right for you.

Learning Objectives:
1) Explain how workplaces and employees are typically impacted as a result of a critical incident;
2) Identify the clinical foundation required to assess and respond to EAP critical incidents; and
3) Provide a high-level summary of each intervention presented along with its desired outcome.
