October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. At some point in their careers, many EA professionals will encounter clients who have experienced domestic violence. Join us for this webinar, where Robert J. Martin, Senior Advisor to the Violence Prevention Agency, will discuss the implications for those who experience domestic violence. This session will discuss 1) dangerousness – who is and who isn’t; 2) The implications of non-fatal strangulation cases (on the workplace); and 3) strategies for helping clients manage their experiences and fears.
About the Presenter :
Robert J. Martin is one of the nation's leading experts on violence prevention and threat assessment. During his 28-year career with the Los Angeles Police Department, his assignments ranged from uniformed patrol and traffic to under-cover vice and homicide. He served as Commanding Officer of Detective Headquarters Division and Personnel Division where he managed the human resources functions for 11,000 LAPD employees. He founded the first Threat Management Unit in the country and was the recipient of the Los Angeles Police Department's Service Excellence Award, Personnel Management Award, Olympic Planning Ribbon, and the Papal Visit Planning Ribbon.
