EAPA 2021 Houston Conference & EXPO


We have been monitoring the tremendous global disruptions, illnesses, business losses, and personal health and travel concerns related to COVID-19. Looking to October 2020, the health risks to EAPA members, volunteers and staff remain both high and unpredictable. Additionally, increased spiking of infections and related health complications in Houston, Texas, USA, continue daily. Planning through such uncertainty is near impossible. Lastly, if EAPA were to attempt to conduct the event in Houston in October 2020, it would result in huge financial hardship since a significant number of attendees would not attend.
Based on the above, we have notified the Hilton Americas-Houston that we are cancelling the current hotel contract and will reschedule the annual conference to Fall 2021. It is the desire of EAPA to continue to work with the Hilton organization and our commitment to be in Houston. We anticipate completing negotiations with Hilton on new conference dates and terms by July 15th.
If you had reservations at the Hilton Americas-Houston, you may begin to receive hotel room cancellation notices. To our exhibitors committed to the EXPO in Houston, you will be contacted individually to discuss next steps.
As we have all experienced in our Employee Assistance work, we are challenged to remain flexible, adapting as we go, and open to hybrid responses to the issues before us. So too with EAPA. Back to you as soon as we have a clear path on next steps for EAPA Conference & EXPO in Houston. Thank you.
