PDH/CE Contact Hour & Certificate Information

  PDH/CE Contact Hours

Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education (CE) Contact Hours. Based on the clock hour, one PDH/CE contact hour equals one hour of participation in a pre-approved training. Credit is only for the actual time during which training is provided. Breaks, lunches or any other activities are not included. To earn educational credit, a minimum of eighty-five percent (85%) or more (100% for psychologists) of each session time is required. Partial credit is not available for any course or session.

Employee Assistance Professionals and Addiction Professionals:

EAPA's annual institutes & conferences, all live online education and on-site classroom education provided by EAPA include PDHs approved by the EACC and CE contact hours from:

Employee Assistance Certification Commission (EACC)
National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors (NAADAC); and
National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).

Additional information for professional counselors, psychologists, and social workers is listed below.

Professional Counselors: All educational offerings that meet NBCC requirements include CE contact hours.

Most live annual EAP Conference sessions include NBCC credit. Each offering including NBCC credit is clearly designated in the conference brochure between the session title and session description.

ACEP Logo   EAPA has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6418. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. EAPA is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
Psychologists: EAPA conference sessions that qualify for APA CE contact hours are indicated in the program addendum. Upon completion, psychologists may earn CE credit through an independent third party by passing a test and paying $41.82 to receive 6 CE Contact Hours.  CE Grievance Policy for Psychologists

Social Workers: Each year, EAPA applies to NASW for authorization to provide CE contact hours for the annual   conference. CE contact hour credit extends to EAPA's Conference Recordings section for sessions recorded during the most recent conference year.  Unless otherwise indicated, EAPA does not provide NASW CE contact hours for online education or on-site classroom education.

NASW approval of EAPA's Conference:
